Lawyer, Activist, Board Member
Longtime civil rights advocate, Wahid is a founding partner at Wahid Vizcaino LLP and has spent the better part of the last 20 years defending human rights and devoting his time to community and public service. Wahid also serves as a board member of Emgage USA, a voter advocacy organization serving the underrepresented Muslim American, Arab American, and South Asian American communities.
He was recognized by New Times Magazine as lawyer of the year in 2007 and has been recognized as one of Florida Trend Magazines Legal Elite in the area of criminal law since 2011. He has been awarded Humanitarian of the Year by MCCJ Miami and received the Florida Bar’s Latimer Service award among others.
Recently, Wahid was elected to the Democratic Party’s Platform Committee for the upcoming Democratic National Convention. Wahid will be one of few who will debate and decide the party’s political platform.
When he is not in the courtroom, Wahid can often be found on the rink with his local hockey team, spending time with his family, and working on service projects that bring people together.
